Southern York County woman charged in stabbing death of husband over Labor Day weekend: police

A Glen Rock woman has been accused of stabbing her husband in the chest over Labor Day weekend, Southern Regional Police said.

Brittney M. Nelson, 38, of the first block of Baltimore Street, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and one other offense.

According to online court records, she was released on $50,000 bail.

According to an affidavit, police allege Nelson stabbed her husband in the chest with a knife early Saturday morning. She called 911 to report the incident.

The victim was sitting on the stairs holding what appeared to be a towel to his left chest, the affidavit states. He was taken to an ambulance for treatment.

According to the affidavit, Nelson claims the two were drinking and arguing. At one point, she grabbed a knife, told him to back off and said, “You go.” Her husband walked toward her and she told police she wasn't sure if she attacked him or not.

When she realized the knife had hit her husband, she dropped it and it fell to the ground, the affidavit states.

Police believe the knife penetrated the man's chest about three inches, causing death, the affidavit said.

Police believe Nelson may have escalated the situation and left the room or apartment, the affidavit states.
