Neighbors alarmed by gunshots in Laredo's Hidden Meadow neighborhood

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Residents of the Hidden Meadow neighborhood in Laredo were in an uproar after shots were fired Monday evening, Sept. 2, prompting an investigation by Laredo police. Police received the 911 call around 7 p.m. from the intersection of Sunridge Loop and Wildwood Lane.

Officers found shell casings at the scene, confirming that shots had been fired. Laredo police spokesman Jose Espinoza said investigators were reviewing surveillance footage to find the suspects.

“We have seen an increase in reports of firearms use at all times of the day, so it is very important to always remain vigilant,” Espinoza said. “If you see someone firing a firearm in the air, always report it. We also try to reduce ricochets that could potentially injure someone.”

Espinoza added that firing a weapon within city limits is against the law and could result in arrest. He urged residents to report any suspicious activity immediately.
