Teen arrested as Newport shooting and assault investigation continues

Newport, NH – A juvenile was taken into custody after police received reports of shots fired and found an injured man Thursday evening.

Officers arrived at Whipple Road around 10:15 p.m. to find an adult male victim. Through investigation, officers confirmed that a firearm had been fired and no one had been shot.

So far, officers have located a juvenile suspect and taken him into custody.
