26-year-old man dead, another injured after accident in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Virginia. – Virginia State Police are investigating a car crash in Bedford County that left a 26-year-old man dead and another person injured.

According to state troopers, the accident occurred around midnight on August 30 on Wyatts Way at the intersection with Orrix Creek Road.

According to authorities, Michael Thomas Mason was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle left the right side of the road, experienced an oversteer reaction and rolled over, ejecting both occupants.

Mason, of Evington, Virginia, was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he later died, according to state police. Another person in the vehicle was also injured and taken to the hospital.

It is currently unclear who was driving the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
