Man seriously injured in stabbing on CTA Red Line

A man was stabbed and seriously injured in a fight on a CTA Red Line train in Uptown on the North Side on Monday afternoon.

At around 1:15 p.m., the 37-year-old man got into an argument with someone on the train in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue when the argument turned physical and the man suffered multiple stab wounds to his body, Chicago police said.

The man fled the train and walked to the 4700 block of North Broadway before being taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. He is in critical condition.

No one was taken into custody.

Hours before the stabbing, four people were shot while sleeping on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park.
