Three people in critical condition after Azua accident

San Juan, DR.- Three of the 41 injured in a tragic accident in front of a liquor store in Azua are in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the Alejandro Cabral Hospital in San Juan de la Maguana. Dr. Emelinda Saldívar, the hospital's director, reported that of the 30 patients initially admitted, six are still receiving treatment, three of them in critical condition.

The accident, which left six people dead, occurred after a truck hit a group of people attending the celebrations of the town's patron saint. In response, authorities closed the Gaby Super Fría liquor store, although the owner denied that it had been open during the incident.

Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful announced that the government was taking steps to prevent similar tragedies, stressing the importance of citizen safety and enforcing regulations on alcohol sales. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident and will soon publish their findings.
