Pakistan v Bangladesh, 2nd Test: The commentator said it was a “regular catch” but Saud Shakeel messed it up.

Pakistan's poor fielding was on display again on Saturday when Saud Shakeel dropped a ball in the second Test match against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, denying the team an early wicket, leaving captain Shan Masood and the rest of the Pakistani teammates stunned.

Saud Shakeel dropped an easy catch in the 2nd PAK vs. BAN Test

Pakistan did not perform well in batting, conceding 274 runs in the first innings on the second day of play. However, the hosts had a chance to gain an early advantage over Bangladesh when Mir Hamza's first ball of the innings saw him hit the ball from behind and run out of opener Shadman Islam at the fourth stump. The ball hit a thick outside edge and flew straight to the fielder at the fifth slip.

The commentator said it was a “regular catch” but Shakeel dropped it. In fact, Saim Ayub, who was at fourth slip, also had an opportunity to catch the ball when it bounced off Shakeel's palms but he did not react properly and Pakistan wasted the chance.

Masood was shocked by the missed catch, as were the rest of the players on the field, while umpire Richard Kettleborough hid his face after the drama unfolded.

What happened on the second day of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh?

After Day 1 of the second Test was watered down due to persistent rain in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh troubled Pakistan when Taskin Ahmed took advantage of the moisture on a green-topped wicket to hit the top of Abdullah Shafique's stumps in the first over after a ball swung back to the right-hander. The fast bowler finished with figures of 3 for 57 but the visitors' best bowler was off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who took his 10th five-wicket haul in the format and was on his way to taking figures of 5 for 61 as Bangladesh bowled Pakistan out for 274 on the second day of the second and final Test.

Captain Masood and Ayub offered some resistance to the Bangladesh attack with their respective half-centuries after Shafique's early exit. But when Mehidy ended her 107-run stand after lunch, Pakistan suffered a collapse.

Bangladesh reached a nervous 10 without loss in the two overs before stump and were now 264 runs behind.
