8 killed, 10 injured as truck rams stationary vehicle carrying devotees in Jind, Haryana | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: At least eight people died and ten others were injured when a truck collided with a stationary vehicle Trailer in Haryana Jind District, according to police reports released Tuesday.

Inspector Kuldeep, station in-charge of Sadar Narwana, said the injured were shifted to medical facilities in Jind and Agroha in Hisar district for necessary treatment.
The devotees were travelling from Kurukshetra district to a temple in Gogamedi, Rajasthan, when the unfortunate accident occurred.
“The truck rammed the pickup truck in which the group of devotees was travelling to Gogamedi. When the incident occurred, the devotees had stopped briefly and their vehicle was stationary,” the SHO said.
“Eight people, including two women and a teenager, died in the incident and ten were injured. The injured are out of danger,” he said.
A case has been opened in connection with the incident, the police added.
