No progress on Wear OS updates

Google now offers a very decent seven years of Android updates for the Pixel series, including Pixel feature drops. But with the Pixel Watch, there is no step forward with the new generation; it has remained the same for three years.

Support for the Google Pixel Watch also ends in 2025, the Google Pixel Watch 2 ends in 2026, and the Google Pixel Watch 3 will be supported until 2027. It is possible that Google will extend this, but you cannot rely on it.

There is still room for improvement with the smartwatch if Google really wants to be the alternative to Apple with the Pixel series on Android, because the Apple Watch gets more updates. The Google Pixel Watch 3 comes with Wear OS 5 and Google is currently planning one major Wear OS update per year.
