Crash at the Pillhof intersection – The New South Tyrolean Daily Newspaper

Late on Monday afternoon, a sensational accident occurred at the notorious Pillhof intersection near Frangart.

On Monday shortly after 5.30 p.m., the driver of an off-road vehicle lost control of the vehicle after a collision with another car.

The car was thrown across the intersection and collided with both a delivery van and a motorcycle.

The impact pushed the motorcycle under the SUV and the motorcyclist fell onto the meadow path below. The motorcyclist suffered injuries of unknown severity.

One person was trapped in the van and could not free himself.

By using hydraulic rescue equipment, the Frangart fire department and the men from the Bozen professional fire department were able to safely free the person from the vehicle.

Both the motorcyclist and the person in the van were given first aid by the emergency doctor present and then taken to the hospital in Bolzano for further treatment.
