The role of Arthur Morgan made Roger Clark a minor celebrity in the video game scene.

Roger Clark lends his distinctive voice to one of the most memorable video game characters of the last 10 years – Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2.

The actor and voice actor was recently interviewed about his experiences at the time and provided some surprising insights.

In the Gamology video, the speaker was asked, among other things, about one thing he would do differently when looking back on the dubbing.

And Clark had a direct answer to that. He regretted having stated a character's name incorrectly.

Roger Clark's objection fell on deaf ears at Rockstar

Which character is this? Colm O' Driscoll, leader of the gang of the same name and one of the greatest enemies of Arthur Morgan and his gang around Dutch Van der Linde. According to Clark, this Irish name is pronounced differently than it is read – which he also noted during the recordings. But his words apparently fell on deaf ears.

“Rockstar made me pronounce it wrong, I told them it was wrong but they didn't care. It's pronounced 'Colom', not Colm.”

This mistake was obviously intentional, however – especially since it is noted in the game that Arthur Morgan pronounces the name incorrectly. Whether the incorrect pronunciation was intended to underline Arthur's human side – after all, we all make similar mistakes – or whether there was another idea behind it, is not known.

But it is not the only “mistake” that Rockstar has deliberately included in the game and left there. In July we reported on a spelling mistake on a gravestone, but this was also intentional when Rockstar revealed it.

What is behind it, so that you can find here:

Rogar Clark revealed many other interesting facts in an interview with Gamology. This includes which ending of the game makes the most sense to him. Overall, it's a video well worth watching and we can only recommend it to you.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in October 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version following almost a year later. In addition to the story campaign, the game also offers an extensive multiplayer component – Red Dead Online – with which you can explore the huge game world with other players.
