Meringer gets the next rose from Bachelorette

The third episode of this year's Bachelorette season is polarizing not only with an unexpected female visit to the men's villa, but also with a lot of potential for conflict. Martin Michelius from Mering also has to fight his way through unexpected competitors on the first night of roses.

Every Monday a new episode of The Bachelorette appears on the paid streaming service RTL+. At the start of the season last week, RTL+ presented a double episode. The current third episode starts with the five women moving into the candidates' villa. The initial surprising excitement quickly gives way to unease. Martin Michelius also seems less enthusiastic at first and withdraws. While the women explain their sexuality, it quickly becomes clear that the five new candidates could also date each other. The men aren't sure either, because among the women there are not only homosexual candidates, but also bisexual ones. “Maybe it's the age, but I felt like I was in a party format,” says Michelius in an interview.

The new dynamic in the villa leads to arguments in the first few minutes. While the women make it their mission to explain feminism and the different types of relationships to the men, most of the men would prefer to get rid of their new competitors immediately. The different ways of thinking promise plenty of potential for conflict in the next episodes.

Martin Michelius has to endure the night of roses, in which the bachelorette sees all the candidates again and then hands out her roses, without a one-on-one conversation with bachelorette Stella Stegmann. When she talks about how she is considering an open relationship, the Meringer reacts skeptically: “That would definitely not be for me. I want a partner for myself.” Bachelorette Stella Stegmann questions the heteronormative relationship concept and wants a partner who is open to different types of relationships. Whether the 35-year-old Meringer is the right fit for this remains to be seen.

In the rose ceremony, the Bachelorette has to say goodbye to three candidates. Martin Michelius is hoping for another rose so he can get to know Stella Stegmann better. “She really blew me away. “She has a brutal charisma, can speak well, is intelligent, so of course I want a rose,” says the Mering rose candidate in an interview. The 35-year-old can breathe a sigh of relief, the seventh rose is his. Who has to pack their bags and leave the villa in Thailand will not be revealed until episode four on RTL+, but the preview already promises a lot of drama and adrenaline.
