Google Pixel Watch 3 doesn't receive updates half as long as Google Pixel 9

The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is set to receive at least four major Wear OS updates. watchOS 11, the next major update to the Apple Watch, is compatible with all models up to the Apple Watch Series 6, which will receive its fourth major operating system update. Buyers of a Google Pixel Watch 3 should therefore be prepared to have to buy a new smartwatch in three years if they want to use the latest Wear OS features and benefit from the latest security patches.

Since Google cannot repair the Pixel Watch 3, you cannot expect it to last much longer anyway. Google cannot even replace the battery, and since even a new Pixel Watch 3 only lasts “up to 24 hours”, the smartwatch will hardly last a day after a few years without being connected to the charger in between.
