According to the Anatolia news agency, the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan (YAP) party emerged victorious from Sunday's parliamentary elections, securing the majority of seats according to preliminary results.

In a country with nearly 6.5 million registered voters, voter turnout was reportedly 37.27%.

What is particularly noteworthy is that Azerbaijanis participated in the elections to elect members of the National Council for the seventh time. In these elections, 990 candidates competed for 125 seats.

The election result underlines the continued dominance of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party and reflects voters’ trust in its leadership and policies.

These results also underscore the importance of the electoral process in Azerbaijan’s democratic landscape, where voter turnout remains a crucial indicator of civic engagement and political participation.

The election result confirms the position of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party as the leading political force in Azerbaijan’s parliamentary system and shapes the country’s legislative agenda for the coming years.

Furthermore, the high voter turnout underscores the active participation of Azerbaijani citizens in democratic processes and underscores their commitment to shaping the future of their country through elections.
