The Caterer – News – Head chef of an arts club in London dies

Swedish chef Mussie Imnetu, who was attacked during the Notting Hill Carnival in London, died over the weekend.

The 41-year-old is head chef at the Arts Club private club and restaurant in Dubai and was found unconscious with a head injury in Queensway, W2, at 11.22pm on Monday 26 August.

According to the club's website, Imnetu had worked under chefs such as Marcus Wareing, Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse.

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.

Councillor Sarah Addenbrooke, lead member for communities and public safety in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, said: “I am deeply saddened by this terrible news and I offer my condolences to the families affected. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”

Notting Hill Carnival organisers released a statement on social media, commenting: “Notting Hill Carnival is shocked by these tragic deaths and our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the wider local community who, like so many others, have all too often suffered from the scourge of violent crime.

“We stand together and condemn these acts, which violate all the values ​​of Carnival and the millions of people who come to celebrate it.”

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, also said the deaths were “heartbreaking” and the violence was “shocking and totally unacceptable”.
