Ten Hag after United's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool

Manchester [UK]September 2 (ANI): After his team's defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League match, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag praised his opponents for their “consistent finishing” and described the three goals conceded as “individual errors”.

A brace from Luis Diaz was the highlight as United suffered their second defeat in three games, losing 3-0 to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

After the game, Hag said, according to Sky Sports: “We made mistakes and they finished very calmly, they did very well.” “All three goals are mistakes from us – individual mistakes. The last one you can maybe argue about, 'where is our double six?', but all the others Liverpool were brilliant. Arne took charge, the way they won the ball and the way they finished was so good.” “Don't say the game was even apart from the goals. It's clear Liverpool deserved it. We have to be humble, accept that and improve our game,” he concluded.

Diaz took advantage of two errors from Casemiro in the first half, while Mohammed Salah scored Liverpool's third goal with a strike in the second half.

Liverpool had a goal disallowed by VAR in the sixth minute as Salah touched the ball in an offside position. The United fans' joy was short-lived, however, as Ryan Gravenberch collected a poor pass from Casemiro and it eventually led to a beautiful finish from Diaz in the 35th minute.

Six minutes later, Casemiro's bad day on the pitch got even worse: he lost the ball and Salah found Diaz, who fired a low shot past Andre Onana in the 42nd minute.

Casemiro was replaced at half-time by 20-year-old Toby Collyer and the move forced Kobbie Mainoo into a deeper role, but he was also stripped of the ball by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai found Salah, who wasted no time in tripling the lead in the 56th minute.

Regarding Casemiro's performance, Ten Hag backed the player, saying: “You know the game. He knows the game. He will continue, we will continue. He is a great player. We will continue this season to improve the team and the players.” “He has improved and shown so many times that he is a great character. We have all seen great moments from him where he was decisive in midfield. He will show it again, I am sure he will bounce back,” he concluded.

Liverpool are in second place with three wins in three games and nine points overall. United are in 14th place with one win and two losses and have just three points. (ANI)
