WBD man stabbed during argument at party; 4 people arrested

Police from Regional Division 3 have arrested four people following the fatal stabbing attack on a man in the West Bank of Demerara on Saturday evening.

Dead is 24-year-old Allie Mark Augustine, a welder from Lot 28 Lust-en-Rust, WBD.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday around 10:30 p.m. in Lust-En-Rust.

Investigations revealed that Augustine was at a birthday party in Lust-en-Rust, Lot 37, when an argument broke out between him and a group of villagers over an old grievance. The argument was followed by a scuffle between Augustine and some young men, which resulted in him being stabbed to death.

The injured man then ran a short distance away and collapsed in a nearby yard.

Local residents called police and Augustine's body was examined, revealing a single wound in his left armpit.

The body was then taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where the doctor on duty pronounced Augustine dead upon arrival. The body is at Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Several people were questioned and based on the information received, four people were arrested and are in custody.
