Proud grandma Lorraine Kelly shares joy with sweet news after daughter Rosie gives birth to her first child

LORRAINE Kelly has shared her joy after her daughter announced the birth of her first child.

Rosie Kelly-Smith and her fiancé Steve White announced today that their daughter Billie Kelly Smith-White was born on August 29th.

Rosie posted a photo on Instagram announcing the arrival, showing the little tot holding his mother's index finger.

The photo was quickly shared by daytime TV presenter Lorraine, who shared her joy at becoming a grandmother for the first time.

“I am bursting with curiosity to share this wonderful news with you!” wrote Lorraine.

“Baby Billie is an angel and I am so proud of [Rosie] And [Steve] who will be the best parents.

“I'm excited to be Granny Smith and can't wait to go on adventures. #love#joy#happiness#family”

Lorraine's TV friends were quick to leave their congratulations in the comments.

Susanna Reid of Good Morning Britain wrote: “So much love to you all and especially to little precious baby Billie.”

“Ohhh the happiest days yet!!! I'm so happy for you all,” wrote Ranvir Singh, while Kate Garraway added: “Wonderful, wonderful news!!!!”

Denise Welch said: “Wonderful news. Becoming grandparents has changed our lives xx”

Ruth Langsford wrote: “How WONDERFUL! 🎉 Enjoying every second of being a grandma! 👶🏻”

Michelle Visage added: “CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU” and Judi Love added: “Congratulations you are going to be the best nanny ever xx. Sending you all lots of love ❤️”

Even Piers Morgan got in on the act and told the new grandmother: “Congratulations to you all!”

Proud new mother Rosie had previously shared the photo of the baby and wrote next to the picture: “Baby Billie Kelly Smith-White is here 💕 29-08-2024

“It feels like she's been here the whole time and we're not quite sure what the point of it all was before.

“I've heard how great midwives are, but they really are walking angels – she has already been welcomed into the world with so much love.”

Rosie has been keeping her followers updated on all the details of her pregnancy and just last week even gave a glimpse into the baby's nursery.

On Instagram, Rosie shared a video of the neutral room, which is already filled with children's books, full toy boxes and baby clothes.

In April, we reported that the Lorraine Show presenter was becoming a grandmother for the first time after Rosie announced she was expecting her first baby.

In another video, Rosie revealed that she even laminated her birth plan and had a hospital bag ready since mid-August.

Lorraine even said that she was so excited about becoming a grandmother that she had set up a nursery in her own house for when the baby came to visit.
