Woman stabbed to death in Bright Ridge, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, man arrested on suspicion of murder

An elderly woman has died following reports of a stabbing on a residential street.

Police were called to a disturbance at Bright Ridge in Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, at around 11pm yesterday (31 August).

They arrived at the scene with paramedics and found a woman in her eighties and a man in his twenties with stab wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the man was taken to a local hospital where he remains in serious condition.

He was later arrested by officers on suspicion of murder, while investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

The two people involved know each other and the police are not currently looking for any other people in connection with the incident.

Officers remain on site as part of the ongoing investigation.
