The vehicle involved in the accident was owned by Maserati, an Italian luxury brand. This model was a Levante Trofeo Launch Edition, whose market price including registration fees is over 15 billion VND.

Mai Chi Tho Road in Thu Duc city is about 9 km long. It starts from Vo Van Kiet Street in District 1 and runs through the Saigon Tunnel. The road, with 12 lanes and a maximum speed of 80 km/h, is an important traffic artery in the eastern part of the city and provides access to the HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway, which connects the city with Dong Nai province and the beach resort of Vung Tau.
