It's officially the first day of September, a big month for all soaps – with lots of explosive episodes. To get a taste of all the drama coming this week, EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale And Hollyoaks have all released great new trailers to excite soap fans.

There is also another special episode in Emmerdale's Belle and Tom story, while Hollyoaks broadcast the emotional departure of a main character.

If you missed any of these trailers or other soap opera gossip, you've come to the right place. Here's our weekly roundup of all the biggest stories from the past seven days:

Tom and Belle King's domestic violence story has captivated soap viewers for months now, and the series has deviated from its usual format several times to tell this important story in new and creative ways.

The next of these special episodes is set to air on Thursday (September 5) and will feature several “alternate realities” of Belle's future. As Tom warns her that he will never let her go, viewers will see three possible future scenarios for the couple as Belle imagines what could be to come.

Producer Sophie Roper said: “In this stylised episode, we get to the bottom of Belle's worst fears and see the true extent of the impact her abusive relationship with Tom has had on her. If Belle's plight leads a person to seek help for a situation they find themselves in, that is an achievement.”

This week Emmerdale has released a dramatic trailer giving viewers their first look at the barn fire that will cause chaos in the village later this month.

Earlier this year, paparazzi photos showed someone being carried out of the fire, but now the soap opera has provided further details about the traumatic event.

Moira's behavior will continue to worry Cain, and Caleb will reveal that he saw her and Nate kissing – a revelation that could destroy Nate and Tracy's new beginning. Meanwhile, Tom will continue to manipulate Belle, and both characters appear to be in danger.

The thrilling clip shows Moira aiming a shotgun at someone. Ruby is left unconscious while the barn goes up in flames and Cain tries to save his wife. Will everyone survive this terrible fire?

Corrie also gives a taste of what's coming this month: a brand new trailer shows that time is running out for some of the soap's most popular characters.

Dee-Dee and DS Lisa Swain recently discovered the evil Joel's crimes, but he will continue his plans in the coming weeks as the pair struggle to gather concrete evidence against him. Will Joel finally get his just punishment?

Meanwhile, Paul's tragic story of motor neurone disease comes to a heartbreaking end, and when he is suddenly admitted to hospital, Billy finds himself in a race against time to say goodbye to his husband.

Also, Nick and Toyah try to keep their affair a secret from Leanne – but judging by the slap in the trailer, we assume the truth will soon come out…

Staying with Corrie, villain Nathan is currently in prison for attacking Lauren – but we all know he didn't commit that crime. When Joel's downfall was hinted at, there was speculation that Nathan might be released from prison.

But in an exclusive interview, actor Chris Harper confirmed that viewers will not see Nathan on screen again, at least for a while.

“No, I'm definitely not going back,” he said. “But you never say never, I guess! I really don't want him to go through a forgiveness phase. So I don't know why he keeps coming back to Weatherfield.”

“It's Bethany's journey, not his. It has to be about Bethany's life, and I think he's served his time.”

Dean Wicks: Eastenders

Not to be outdone by the ITV soaps, EastEnders Next week, we'll have a whole series of episodes featuring the Dean Wicks murder trial. Of course, he's not responsible for Keanu Taylor's death, and the women of The Six will be desperate to keep their deadly secret under wraps.

Sharon is set to take the stand, but panics when Dean's defense reveals information about her past. Meanwhile, Linda sees that Sharon is not coping well and flees the courtroom before she can give her own false testimony. There will no doubt be many twists and turns as the trial progresses, but will Dean be found guilty?

You know what they say about trailers: you wait for one and four come at once… yes, Hollyoaks has also released a new trailer that gives a taste of the upcoming stunt week.

Out of Monday, September 9the soap is reduced to three episodes a week, broadcast Monday to Wednesday. But this big change is welcomed in style, with an epic week of stunts that sees Warren discover Blue's identity and a major showdown with Dave.

It's difficult to summarize everything that happens in this thrilling clip, but Misbah is kidnapped, Cleo tries to escape from Abe, JJ is arrested for his abuse of Frankie and Ethan tells Sienna he's still in love with her. And after a devastating incident leaves the village in turmoil, the show jumps a year into the future…

This week, Hollyoaks Another major departure was broadcast, with Kitty Draper leaving the village after Dave gave her a major ultimatum and she was forced to say goodbye to the Hutchinsons – including an emotional farewell to Ro.

Following her departure, Iz Hesketh took to social media to write a beautiful farewell message explaining that she had made the decision to leave Hollyoaksand had not been released.

She wrote: “Thank you to everyone who worked on the show and welcomed me with open arms. It has been an incredible time for me to become part of the family.

“I really tried to create a character that is flawed, lovable, real and unapologetically trans. I can only hope that certain people saw glimpses of their life experience in everything I worked so hard on.”

Theo Poulos, Xander Delaney and Dana Matheson in “Home and Away”

Channel 5

Elsewhere in Australia, next week Home and Away is supposed to broadcast a terrible surfing accident involving Xander Delaney, in which he hits his head in the water and has to be pulled to shore.

Xander panics when he realizes he can no longer feel his legs. At the hospital, he fears the effects may be permanent.

But this tragic accident leads to a reunion with Dana, and the two kiss after he regains some feeling in his legs.

Emmerdale will be broadcast weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and streamed on ITVX.
