Oldbury stabbing: Two teenagers arrested after 13-year-old boy stabbed to death | UK | News

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in his own home in Oldbury.

The teenager died after being attacked on Lovett Avenue around 4 p.m. on Thursday (August 26).

The two teenagers were arrested today (Sunday, September 1) and taken into custody for questioning.

West Midlands Police said in a statement: “We have arrested two teenagers for the murder of a 13-year-old boy at an address in Oldbury.”

“Two boys were arrested today (Sunday) in connection with the fatal stabbing on Lovett Avenue on Thursday (August 29).

Police said the family of the 13-year-old boy who died had been informed of developments in the police investigation, adding: “Our thoughts are with them at this devastating time.”

Today's arrests came after Chief Superintendent Kim Madill of West Midlands Police appealed for information.

On Friday she said: “This is a truly sad and tragic incident in which a young boy has lost his life.

“First and foremost, my thoughts and those of all those involved in solving the death of this young boy go out to his family and relatives.

“I know this will also have a huge impact on the wider public, who will be shocked and concerned about what has happened.”

Ch Supt Madill assured the boy's family and the wider community that West Midlands Police would work with them and support them.

Bouquets of flowers, candles and teddy bears were left at the semi-detached house and the thank you note was placed in front of the front door of the property.
