Andrea Kiewel shares traumatic TV experience in “ZDF-Fernsehgarten”

The theme of the “ZDF-Fernsehgarten” with presenter Andrea Kiewel is “Discofox”. But in addition to music and dance, a major baking influencer is also a guest: Sally Özcan, known on social media as “Sally's World”. A total of 8 million people follow the professional baker on all channels. She is supposed to bake cupcakes and cakes for the show and will receive support from other celebrities: Ralf Morgenstern, Detlef Soost, Mirja du Mont and Raúl Richter.

They all have something in common: Everyone has already been with Kiwi in the “Fernsehgarten” and has already competed in the SAT1 show “Das große Promibacken” (The Great Celebrity Bake Off); Detlef Soost even won the Easter special. Kiwi also thinks that's impressive and calls Soost a “rabbit”. Ralf Morgenstern even had his own café. Mirja du Mont, however, was unable to take home the baking crown; she was eliminated in the third round of “Promibacken”.

But Andrea Kiewel has also already taken part in the show and is immediately reminded of a terrible failure. “I'm winning everything here,” the presenter told her guests. “Because I'm the woman who was eliminated in round 1!” remembers Kiwi. “Oh, you've already taken part too?” Raúl Richter is surprised. “The pity in your eyes!” complains the 59-year-old and points at the amateur bakers. “I hate you!”

Kiwi can “only eat cake, as you can see”

Before the show, she took a course with a pastry chef, as Kiwi explained to the audience. They could “only eat cake, as you can see”. She then baked a cake in the first round of “The Great Celebrity Bake Off” that matched her name: a kiwi. But one look at her kitchen neighbor Sarah Engels was enough to know that her performance would not be good enough. She modelled an entire piano out of dough. “I was so bad,” Andrea Kiewel recalls her experience on the show.
