Teenager in court after stabbing in Nottingham

A teenager has appeared in court following a stabbing on the street.

Last Friday (23 August) police responded to Oakdale Road in Bakersfield, Nottingham at 12.41pm after a man sustained a stab wound to the arm.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in hospital.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Monday (26 August) and is now charged with intentional grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (28 August) and will appear again at the same court on 18 December 2024.

Detective Inspector Chris Berryman of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured, but we know that any incident involving a knife can have very serious consequences.

“I hope that the public will be comforted by the decisive action of the police, which has led to this suspect being brought to justice.”
