LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fatman Scoop's ex-wife Shanda Freeman mourns the sudden death of the famous rapper and hype man.

Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, collapsed during a performance in Hamden, Connecticut, on Friday, August 30. He was 53 years old.

According to Daily Mail, the rapper's ex-wife, Shanda, paid tribute to the New York entertainer on Instagram on Saturday.

Shanda Freeman broke her silence on the tragic death of her ex-husband, sharing photos of the rapper on Instagram and writing: “We made history. We were the FIRST. I am heartbroken. I love you. Forever.”

In another post, she wrote: “I want to PERSONALLY THANK EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has shown Isaac @fatmanscoop and I so much LOVE.”

“He was an ICON and a LEGEND and so many people love him. He had a pure heart and loved helping others. Isaac had THE BEST PARENTS and learned his heart through them,” Shanda added.

She concluded, “He will be forever missed, loved and adored by so many. He put me in front of the camera and I will be forever grateful and loved. Thank you all so much!!”

Shanda and Scoop were married for 13 years before divorcing.

During an appearance on “The Premium Pete Show” in August 2018, he said, according to Today, that their divorce had “nothing to do with infidelity” and “with other issues.”

In 2008, the couple appeared on the MTV reality show “Man & Wife”, which was touted as the first series about a married couple from the hip-hop scene.

The family of the β€œSuelta” singer announced his death on Instagram on Saturday. After collapsing on stage, Fatman Scoop was resuscitated and taken to hospital.

The message, shared with Scoop's 204,000 followers, read: “It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of the legendary and iconic FatMan Scoop. Last night the world lost a shining soul, a beacon of light on stage and in life.”

His family described the entertainer as a “world-class artist” and “father, brother, uncle and friend,” adding: “He was the laughter of our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.”

“FatMan Scoop was known worldwide as the undisputed voice of the club. His music made us dance and approach life positively,” the statement continued.

The comment section of Instagram posts on the accounts of Fatman Scoop and his ex-wife Shanda Freeman was filled with heartfelt messages from fans and fellow musicians mourning the icon.

Steve Aoki wrote: “This is such tragic news. He was a legend. Rest in peace my friend πŸ’”.”

Work It rapper Missy Elliot wrote, “Prayers for Fatman Scoop's family for STRENGTH during this difficult time. Fatman Scoop's VOICE and energy have contributed to MANY songs that have made people HAPPY and danced for over two decades. Your IMPACT is HUGE and will NEVER be forgotten.”

Singer Crystal Waters also paid tribute to the singer and wrote: “He was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. He will be truly missed. His family is in love and prayers.”

Television producer Brian Balthazar took to the comments section of Shanda's post to support her during the difficult struggle. The producer of “The Wendy Williams Show” wrote, “I will never forget this show and the thrill of warming up the audience before the two of you captivated and delighted the audience. I am so sorry for your loss. He is a remarkable man.”

One fan commented on the couple's participation in “Man & Wife” by saying, “Yes! You two were the originals! May the powers that be allow your show to stay in syndication forever!”

Another person noted, “I've been rocking with you ever since. πŸ’” My prayers are with you and your family πŸ™πŸ½,” and yet another added, “Shanda you and Scoop made Newburgh so proud, you all did something that took the world by storm. πŸ™πŸΎ.”
