The Volvo bus, built in 2018, left the road and overturned on its side.

Several passengers were thrown out of the bus as a result of the accident.

The names of the eight deceased passengers have not yet been released by the authorities, but two of the victims were siblings aged six and 16.

The Vicksburg Fire Department responded to the scene of the tragic accident and 37 of the passengers were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries.

It was unclear where the charter bus was going.
