Police in Regina find dogs suspected of attack and arrest man

Two dogs allegedly involved in an attack on a woman earlier this month have been found and one person has been arrested, Regina police said.

Regina police previously said officers were called shortly after 9 a.m. on August 19 to a report of a dog attack near Third Avenue and Cameron Street in the city's North Central neighbourhood.

According to police, the woman was walking her dogs when she was chased and then attacked by the other two dogs.

Their investigation revealed that a man and a woman came and led the dogs away but did not return to help the victim, a police news release said.

The attacked woman called for help and a city employee called an ambulance.

After further investigation, police were able to locate and confiscate the dogs on Thursday, a press release said on Friday. A man was also arrested, but police did not provide any information on his involvement in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and it is not yet clear whether and what charges will be filed, police said.
