Tragic deaths during customs recruitment drive in Jharkhand

Police said on Saturday that several candidates were killed during physical examinations for the customs officer recruitment drive in Jharkhand.

The state's BJP accused the authorities of mismanagement and claimed that ten candidates died due to inadequate security during the election.

Police have launched an investigation into the deaths and ensured that all centres were equipped with medical teams, ambulances and other necessary facilities. However, BJP leader Babulal Marandi demanded a judicial inquiry and compensation and jobs for the families of the dead.
