Husband grabs wife after stabbing her with kitchen knife

A man who fled after stabbing his wife with a kitchen knife was arrested, police said Saturday.

A 25-year-old woman was admitted to DDU Hospital on August 28 with stab wounds from a sharp weapon. The woman regained consciousness after about six hours and described the incident, police said.

During the investigation, it emerged that she had been attacked by her husband Sudhir Kumar in their house in Sagarpur as the relationship between them and her wife was strained.

She lived alone with her three children in Sagarpur area. On August 28, her husband came to her house and became angry. He tried to stab her in the neck with a kitchen knife and fled.

A case has been registered in this regard and efforts are being made to trace the accused.

The accused was arrested from Uttam Nagar within 24 hours of the case being registered.

Police added that the accused had studied school till fourth grade and had three children. He did not have a healthy relationship with his wife, which is why he committed this crime.
