A 60-year-old woman from Tempe, Arizona, was found dead in her cubicle four days after her last work assignment. The cause of death is still under investigation and will be determined by the county coroner's office.

Death in the office; what happened?

Prudhomme last reported to work on Friday, August 16, at 7 a.m. “The preliminary investigation revealed no obvious signs of a crime. We do not have any further information at this time as the investigation is ongoing,” the Tempe Police Criminal Investigation Bureau said.

Wells Fargo said Prudhomme's death went unnoticed because she was sitting in a “very sparsely populated area” of the office. According to a report in NBC Partner companies KPNXAn unnamed employee said several people said they noticed a “bad smell” but attributed it to “faulty plumbing.”

A report on the local news channel Arizona's family stated that police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of an “injured person” when security guards found Prudhomme's body. The Maricopa County Coroner's Office will now determine the cause of death.

Wells Fargo said in a statement: “Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones and we remain in touch to ensure they are well supported during this difficult time. The safety and well-being of our workforce is important to us and we are reviewing our internal procedures following this incident.”

Although the office is reportedly guarded 24 hours a day, most employees are reportedly working from home. An unnamed employee told 12News“It's negligence in a way,” he said, calling for better safety protocols in the office. Another employee agreed, calling the situation “very unpleasant.”

“The body was there for four days before anyone found out or anyone went to her to say 'hi' and make sure she was OK. It just lay there,” the employee said. Wells Fargo has reportedly offered counseling to other employees affected by the incident.
