Man dies in road accident in Delhi; family donates his organs and gives hope and healing to those in need

New Delhi [India]August 30 (ANI): 26-year-old Anish Banerjee died in a tragic road accident. He has been admitted to JPNATC, AIIMS, New Delhi, officials said.

Despite the best and most comprehensive care, he was declared brain dead on Thursday, officials said.

The family was sensitively explained about the concept of brain death and organ donation by the transplant coordinators of the Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation (ORBO), AIIMS, New Delhi, officials said.

Expressing her gratitude to Anish's family, Dr. Aarti Vij, Professor in Charge, ORBO, AIIMS, New Delhi, said, “In a remarkable act of courage and compassion, his family took the selfless decision to donate his organs, ensuring that his legacy lives on by providing hope and healing to those in need.
