“Family Treasures” program is being “revised”

CENTRAL CITY – “Family Treasurer” will be the Merrick County Historical Museum’s program focus at its fall meeting on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Yes, this is a repeat of the January schedule, where inclement weather prevented some members and guests from traveling, while others made the trip and returned home due to icy roads.

The museum invites visitors to bring an object from their family history and to spend a few minutes telling how it is connected to their family.

The business meeting includes progress reports on the new facility, financial status, and future plans within the organization. Volunteers continue to list donated items, catalog, and pack for the planned move to the new facility.

The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Merrick Foundation Venture Center, 1432 17th Ave, Suite B, in Central City.

Just a reminder…

The Grand Theatre is closed this weekend so its volunteers and moviegoers can attend the Nebraska State Fair.

The theater will reopen on September 6 with “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!”
