Parent arrested for assaulting Istrouma high school teacher

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (WAFB) – A parent was arrested for assault on an Istrouma High School teacher after an altercation broke out, officials said.

According to Baton Rouge police, Roshanda Williams, 45, went to school on Tuesday, August 27, because her son had been reprimanded in class. She allegedly behaved aggressively toward staff, being loud and cursing.

According to police, Williams behaved aggressively and argumentatively towards the teacher during a parent-teacher meeting and swore.

After further investigation by a special services officer, Williams was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on a charge of assault by a non-student on a teacher.
