Woman dead, man hospitalized after shooting near Pompano Beach Pier – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Pompano Beach that left a woman dead and a man hospitalized Thursday afternoon.

Officials with the Broward Sheriff's Office said they received reports of a shooting around 12:20 p.m. in the area of ​​Pier Street and Seabreeze Way, not far from the Pompano Beach Pier.

When first responders arrived, they found the man and woman with gunshot wounds.

The woman's death was pronounced at the scene of the accident and the man was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

Pictures from the crime scene showed the woman's body lying on the street, covered with a yellow tarp and surrounded by a pool of blood.

Officials did not release the identities of the man and woman or provide further details, but said the incident remains under investigation.
