Why West Ham will win

West Ham have played well in their first two games, but they will have their work cut out for them against the best team in the Premier League. Their attack certainly has the playmakers to make a splash.

Soucek has now scored one goal from seven shots, so it's safe to assume he will be one of the biggest threats on the pitch. Lucas Paqueta has scored one goal this season, but he missed on the last one and will be looking to bounce back. Brown will be looking to score another goal after scoring one on the last one. In addition, the Hammers would like to see more from Michail Antonio, who has had four shots but none have hit the target.

The defence will also have its hands full. Having allowed 10 shots, Crystal Palace will likely have to protect themselves from many more shots from Manchester City, who live to shoot at goal. Therefore, the most effective strategy would be to lock the Citizens in and not give them any breathing room. That would make things a little easier for goalkeeper Alphonse Arreola, who saved three shots and conceded two goals.

West Ham will win this game if their attack creates chances early in the game and then they must prevent Manchester City from getting numerous opportunities.

Why Manchester City will win

Even after losing Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, Manchester City have thrived. Amazingly, the remaining players are doing enough to destroy the competition. Lately, it's been a two-headed monster smashing its way to victory.

Halaand now has four goals and is the Premier League's top scorer. He has also had six shots on goal. Expect him to be a key part of that attack once again. Meanwhile, De Bruyne continues to be exceptional, with a goal, an assist and six shots, including one on target. Mateo Kovacic has scored a goal. Likewise, Saka now has an assist, including three shots, two of which have been on target.

Manchester City had no problems in defence. They controlled the ball so well that there were hardly any dangerous situations on their side. Goalkeeper Ederson saved three shots and conceded only one goal this season.

Manchester City will win this game if Haaland and De Bruyne can work their magic again, and they must avoid falling into a relapse and giving West Ham no hope.
