Chicago Bears 2024 schedule prediction

Chicago Bears 2024 schedule prediction

We're in a bit of a holding pattern as the preseason ended a week ago, but it's still over a week until the Bears open their season against the Titans.

Since we have some time to kill before the Bears head into the Super Bowl, I thought it would be a good time to go through the schedule and make some predictions for each game.

Last year Luis, Patrick and I did that on our Bears show and I admit I was a little hasty. I was all about the Justin Fields experience (or at least I told myself so) and I was kind of over-eager and over-ambitious. I had Chicago 12-5 ahead. Hands up, that was my achievement. I proved it all year long on the post-game shows. At least the 0-4 start didn't give me any opportunity for false hope!

While there was clearly false hope last year, this year there is plenty of evidence to support real hope. Maybe not for a Super Bowl, but for a team that can compete in the NFC's toughest division, make a push for the playoffs, is very well positioned for the long term, and has its quarterback for the next decade and beyond.

I'm hot and ready for the Titans. Let's predict some games.

Week 1 – Titans at Bears: Victory

There's no way they're starting with a home loss against a team that's probably taking a step back this year, right?!? I'm nervous because I've been injured in the past, but I'm optimistic that this team just feels different. Caleb Williams gets his first win early.

Record: 1-0.

Week 2 – Bears at Texans: Defeat

I've done so much mental gymnastics in my head to make this game a win. And it still could be. But it's Houston's first home game. They'll probably be 1-0. Expectations are sky high in Houston too. I think the Bears are further along than Houston was when CJ Stroud debuted last year (not that far-fetched, I know), but this just feels like a very difficult situation and a difficult first road start for Caleb.

Record: 1-1.

Week 3 – Bears at Colts: Victory

I know it's a road game, but this game has to be a win, especially if Week 2 is a loss. Anthony Richardson is talented, but still very inexperienced. The early part of the schedule gives Chicago an opportunity to get going quickly, and they need to take advantage of that.

Record: 2-1.

Week 4 – Rams at Bears: Victory

If this game was in LA, I'd count it as a loss. I imagine it'll be pretty tough even at home. But the Rams have a rough start to their schedule and had a slow start last year before making a late entry into the playoffs. Why can't Chicago win this game at home?

Just for fun, here are the Bears dominating the Rams in 2018 SNF in one of my favorite games I've ever seen. (Luis: It was rare, I was there and I remember it all too well.)

Record: 3-1.

Week 5 – Bears vs Panthers: Victory

It's better this way.

Record: 4-1.

Week 6 – Bears vs Jaguars (in London): Loss

After a 4-1 start and plenty of momentum, the Bears stumbled across the pond as they faced a solid, well-coached team that was more than used to playing in the domestic league and the routine changes that came with it.

Record: 4-2.

Week 7 – BYE

Record: 4-2.

Week 8 – Bears at Commanders: Victory

This matchup is sure to generate a lot of national buzz as the top two picks in the draft face off. It will also be a homecoming for Caleb. While there could be some potential distractions, they are simply the better team in this game and should have the better QB as well.

Record: 5-2.

Week 9 – Bears at Cardinals: Victory

Arizona had a good offseason and has definitely improved from last year. However, their defense still has a lot of holes and their offense still relies on the health of Kyler Murray. The Bears secondary will do their best to shut down Marvin Harrison Jr. and they should come away with a road win here.

Record: 6-2.

Week 10 – Bears vs. Patriots: Victory

Hopefully it will go similarly to the Carolina game. Who knows if it will be Drake Maye or still Jacoby Brissett, but that shouldn't really matter. After this game the schedule will be really exciting, so it has to be a win.

Record: 7-2.

Week 11 – Bears vs. Packers: Victory

Homer tip? Maybe, maybe not. I refuse to believe Chicago will come up short against Green Bay again like they did several times last season. And no matter what the record is, I think this is a HUGE game for Matt Eberflus and how he can overcome this hurdle.

Record: 8-2.

Week 12 – Bears vs Vikings: Victory

OK, I'm getting a little nervous as the win numbers pile up, but whether Sam Darnold, Nick Mullens, or even our old friend Brett Rypien wins, it should be a win. Minnesota isn't a bad team, but they seem to be a step behind the rest of the NFC North this season. At home with the better QB, it should be a win.

Record: 9-2.

Week 13 – Bears at Lions: Defeat

Detroit is still a very good football team and this will be Chicago's first road game against a likely playoff team since Week 2. Tough environment, tough crowd, tough opponent, no shame in losing this game.

Record: 9-3.

Week 14 – Bears at 49ers: Loss

If they win this game, I'll be delighted. But yeah, I'm not going into this game with the highest expectations.

Record: 9-4.

Week 15 – Bears at Vikings (MNF): Victory

Even though the last two games were on the road against likely playoff opponents, I'm still nervous when it's a two-game losing streak and it's the first of the season. Minnesota will be loud, they'll also be playing in those all-white jerseys. However, the Bears are just better on both sides of the ball. And at this point in the season, who knows what the Vikings' record will be?

Record: 10-4.

Week 16 – Bears vs Lions: Victory

If this were Week 5 or 6, I might reconsider. But Jared Goff HATES playing in the cold (did I mention the 2018 SNF win over the Rams??). The Bears win and even the series with the Lions.

Record: 11-4.

Week 17 – Bears vs. Seahawks (TNF): Loss

Thursday night games are weird. The Bears will be in the killer row of their schedule, having played just five division games and the Niners in the last six weeks. Seattle pulls off the upset here because weird things happen on Thursday nights and the Bears will probably be wearing those stupid orange uniforms too.

Record: 11-5.

Week 18 – Bears at Packers: Victory

I refuse to pick the Bears to lose to Green Bay this season. It's a tough situation for sure. We don't know who will play what. But Caleb is the quarterback who turns this rivalry on its head.

Record: 12-5.

New season, same record! The Bears finish the season 12-5. See you all in the playoffs.
