Four suspects charged in connection with fatal stabbing in Prince George's County in July

HYATTSVILLE, Maryland. – The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit has identified and charged four suspects in connection with a fatal stabbing in July in the city of Hyattsville.

The suspects are 18-year-old Daniel Villanueva Bautista of Washington, DC, 23-year-old Maxwel Quijano Casco of Hyattsville, 28-year-old Josue Lainez of Columbia, MD, and 29-year-old David Perlera-Gonzalez of Highland, MD. They are accused of murdering 34-year-old Samuel Garcia Rojas.

On July 5, 2024, at approximately 9:35 a.m., officers with the City of Hyattsville Police Department responded to a welfare call to the 5300 block of Ager Road. Upon arrival, they found the victim in a vehicle suffering from trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was stabbed after an argument.

The four suspects are charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges and are in the custody of the Department of Corrections without bail.

The Prince George's County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the City of Hyattsville.
