Worcester, MA William Rodriguez still on the run – NBC Boston

Five days have passed and the man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Worcester, Massachusetts, is still on the run.

A mother and her daughter were found stabbed to death in the apartment of William Rodriguez on August 24, according to Worcester police. The perpetrator is “considered armed and dangerous.”

Rodriguez, 59, was already serving a prison sentence for the 2004 stabbing attack on his wife, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said.

The two women were identified by family members as 58-year-old Ana Maria Martinez and 76-year-old Sergia Acosta.

The women had numerous stab wounds when they were found in Acosta's home.

Relatives of the victims said Rodriguez, 59, wanted a relationship with Martinez and became angry when she refused. They said Acosta died while helping her fight off her attacker.

Police did not confirm these details, saying only that the incident was being investigated as domestic violence.

Genesis Barrios, Acosta's granddaughter and Martinez's niece, said her aunt had a budding friendship with Rodriguez. The family had no idea he had been convicted of murdering his wife in 2004 and paroled in 2019.

Prosecutors confirmed Monday that Rodriguez is “the same person who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in October 2007.” They said he was released on parole on June 7, 2019.

Investigators have not yet provided any clues as to Rodriguez's whereabouts. He is currently considered a person of interest – not a suspect – in connection with the stabbing murders.

He was described as 1.88 m tall, weighing 80 kg, with grey hair and brown eyes.
