Nigerian striker Paul Julius dies tragically in car crash in Cyprus

20-year-old Nigerian football player Paul Julius, who recently joined Enosis Neon Paralimni FC, has died in a tragic car accident in Protaras, Famagusta district, reports Soccernet.ng.

The promising young striker had only signed for ENP three weeks ago and was eager to make his mark on the Cypriot football scene. Unfortunately, his dreams were shattered by the fateful accident that has left the football community in deep mourning.

In an emotional statement, Enosis Neon Paralimni FC expressed its deep sadness at the loss of its player who had shown remarkable resilience and determination despite the challenges in his short life.

“It is with deep sadness and pain that we express our sincere condolences for the unexpected loss of our footballer Paul Julius,” the club's statement said. “The tragic news of his death has shocked us all. Despite the hardships and suffering he had to endure to join our family, he remained steadfast and determined to achieve his goals. His memory will live on in our hearts and his absence will be felt. We are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”

The football world was quick to respond to their support, with several Greek clubs sending their condolences. APOEL Football Club, one of Cyprus' most famous clubs, expressed its sadness over the tragic loss.

“APOEL FOOTBALL (PODOSFAIRO) LTD expresses its deepest condolences to the family of ENP and the relatives of football player Paul Julius, who died this morning in a car accident. He was only 20 years old… His memory is eternal,” the club wrote.

AEL Limassol, another major Cypriot club, also expressed its deepest condolences. The President, Board and staff sent their sincere condolences to Julius' family and the ENP community.

The untimely death of Paul Julius has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him and the entire football community.
