Police shoot man on Piscataqua Bridge; I-95 closed in both directions

Early this morning, police shot and killed a man on the Piscataqua River Bridge. The New Hampshire Attorney General's office says the man allegedly killed a woman in Troy overnight and then drove to the bridge on the New Hampshire-Maine border.

Police confronted the man on the bridge, and the incident ended with officers shooting him. The Maine Attorney General's office is investigating the police shooting.

Officers also found an 8-year-old child shot to death in the man's car. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and believe there is no danger to the public.

The I-95 bridge is closed in both directions for the investigation. There is no indication when it will reopen. Traffic is being diverted to two other bridges and commuters should use alternate routes if possible.
