17 years later, the remains of a man were recovered after a plane crash on Lake Huron

Search operations have discovered a small plane that crashed in Lake Huron in Michigan 17 years ago, as well as the remains of a long-missing passenger, state police said Wednesday.

The remains were identified as those of H. Brooke Stauffer Jr., 56, a resident of Washington, DC, who was a passenger on a plane that departed Mackinac Island in August 2007, bound for a small town in Michigan's Lower Peninsula.

Woman bites police officer and steals Michigan State Police car

A domestic violence case in Muskegon County escalated significantly after a woman reportedly bit a police officer while handcuffed and stole a patrol car.

According to authorities, an altercation broke out between a Michigan State Police trooper and Cortney Morey on August 3 after she was told she was going to be arrested.

Fatal accident of Grosse Pointe teenager raises questions about parental responsibility

The parents of a Grosse Pointe teenager who died in a high-speed crash are calling on Wayne County Attorney Kym Worthy to file charges against the mother of the young man who was driving.

“This was not an accident, this was a coincidence. It was a lucky coincidence that Flynn's number was drawn because the only person who had the knowledge and authority to stop her was the mother and she didn't do it,” said Flynn MacKrell's father, Thad MacKrell.

Flynn, a freshman at the University of Dayton, had been home for less than an hour when his friend picked him up.
