ASP CID arrests Forrest City doctor for sexual assault and rape

FORREST CITY – On Monday, August 26, 2024, special agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division arrested Dr. Sudesh Banaji, age 60, of Forrest City, on six counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of aggravated rape.
In August 2023, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office asked the ASP to investigate allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with patients during examinations at Banaji's medical clinic in Forrest City.
Banaji is being held at the Cross County Sheriff's Office on $35,000 bail.
