One man hospitalized after stabbing in northeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — One man is in custody and another is in the hospital following a stabbing in northeast Colorado Springs last night.

Colorado Springs police first received reports of the stabbing at 8 p.m. Wednesday near Roy Benavidez Park on Zamora Circle.

When police arrived, witnesses to the stabbing led them to the suspect's location in a nearby mobile home, where they found the suspect and the stabbing victim. While some officers provided medical aid to the victim, others arrested the suspect.

According to CSPD, the suspect did not leave peacefully; he was tasered and suffered a broken nose during the arrest. He was later transported to a local hospital. According to CSPD, two officers also suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

The victim, who had a stab wound to the chest, was also taken to a hospital where his condition has now stabilized.

The identities of the victim and suspect have not yet been released. The suspect is currently in custody at the El Paso County Jail facing multiple charges and warrants.
