The enemy resumes its offensive operations in the Orikhiv sector – spokesman for the Tavria operational group

The situation in the area of ​​responsibility of the Tavria operational group of forces remains stable. The Russians have resumed their attack on Zaporizhia in the Orichiv sector. During the day, Ukrainian defenders killed 62 invaders and destroyed nine units of military equipment.

The spokesman for the Tavria operational group of troops, Dmytro Lykhovi, reported the news on national television, as Ukrinform was able to see.

“The situation in the Tavria operational area of ​​responsibility can be considered stable. At 7:00 on August 29, three enemy attacks were repelled in the Orikhiv sector near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne. It can be said that the Russians have resumed their attacks on Zaporizhia in the Orikhiv sector, since over the period of three days – August 22, 23 and 24 – the enemy did not launch any attacks in the entire operational area of ​​responsibility of the Tavria operational group,” Lykhovii said.

According to him, the Russians are currently beginning to deploy small infantry groups again both on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region and on the Robotyne ledge in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy continues to try to advance further north. But the enemy is unsuccessful, the spokesman stressed.

Over the past day, the enemy used 262 attack drones, including 259 FVP drones and three Lancet UAVs. The Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 249 attack drones. The enemy also drops ammunition from helicopters.

“Yesterday the enemy dropped 309 firearms 152 times, unfortunately 11 of them again contained toxic substances. But our forces are inflicting significant damage on the enemy: yesterday the Russians' losses in our operational zone amounted to 62 men and nine units of military equipment,” the spokesman said.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the enemy's total combat losses from February 24, 2022 to August 29, 2024 amounted to about 612,390 people (+1,200).
