Damn, bus accident: Driver claims he lost control of the vehicle because of a broken axle (Update) – myRepublica

NEPALGUNJ, Aug 29: Two people died in a bus accident in Ganapur, Banke. The bus bearing registration number Bhe 1 Kha 2128 was travelling from Tulsipur, Dang, to Nepalgunj when the accident occurred.

The dead were Man Bahadur Oli, 60, a passenger from Tulsipur, and Santosh Bhusal, 24, the co-driver from the same place. Both died while undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Dangi confirmed.

27 persons were injured in the accident. DSP Dangi reported that 21 of the injured are being treated at Bheri Hospital while five others are receiving medical treatment at Kohalpur Medical College Teaching Hospital. Moreover, one injured person was discharged after treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital.

After the accident, the police arrested the driver. In his initial statements to the police, the driver stated that the accident was caused by a broken axle.
