Hyderabad police charge Bro Daddy's deputy director with sexual abuse of a young artist

Thiruvananthapuram: A young artist has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad police accusing Mansoor Rasheed, the assistant director of Prithviraj's film 'Bro Daddy', of sexually harassing her and taking nude pictures of her. Despite filing a complaint, the police failed to arrest the accused. The Hyderabad police will forward the complaint to the Special Investigation Team constituted by the Kerala government to probe allegations of sexual assault in the Malayalam film industry.

The incident related to the case took place on August 8, 2021, in Hyderabad. The junior artist was brought to the set of the film through the Malayali Association to act in a wedding scene. As per her complaint, Mansoor offered her a chance in the upcoming scenes and rented a room for her in the same hotel where the film's crew was staying. Later, he reached her room and raped her by giving her an intoxicating drink. The next morning, Mansoor demanded money after sending her a nude photo. She claimed that Mansoor had collected money from her multiple times after blackmailing her with the obscene photo.

The young artist later filed a complaint at the Gachibowli police station in Hyderabad. The police then filed a rape charge against Mansoor.

The complainant alleged that the accused fled from the police with the help of politicians. The police came to his house in Kadakkal, Kollam to take up his arrest, but he escaped. The woman alleged that Mansoor acted in films of many prominent personalities of the Malayalam film industry even after the police arrested him. She alleged that the Chief Minister and the Culture Minister ignored her complaint against Mansoor.

Complaint against director Sudheesh Sankar
A young actress filed a complaint with Kadinamkulam police in Thiruvananthapuram accusing film director Sudheesh Sankar of attempting to rape her. Police recorded the complainant's statement on Wednesday. The incident took place in 2019.

According to the complaint, Sudheesh, known for Dileep starrer 'Villali Veeran' and several popular TV serials, also abused her and tried to sexually assault her. She has also filed a complaint against production manager Shanu. The police will hand over the case to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the coming days.
