Police identify woman killed in North York stabbing

Toronto police have identified a victim of a fatal stabbing in North York on Sunday.

According to a news release Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a 911 call about a person with a knife near Cherrystone Drive and Cliffwood Road around 2:45 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman with clear signs of trauma and no signs of life.

They were taken to hospital where they both died, police said.

Police have identified the woman as Ulrike Miller, 81, of Toronto.

The man, also 81 years old, is said to be responsible for the murder, police said.

Police did not provide further details about the relationship between Miller and the man, but previously stated that the two knew each other.

Neighbours told CBC News on Sunday that the man and woman were married.
