Woman and 2-year-old hospitalized after being bitten by loose dog in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman and a 2-year-old child were taken to the hospital after they were bitten by an escaped pit bull, according to the Harris County 4th District Police Office.

The incident occurred in the 20900 block of Manon Lane.

The constable's office said the two were taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said the child had injuries to his face and arm, but the injuries were considered minor.

Authorities believe the woman suffered a “bad bite,” but it is not considered life-threatening.

The dog has been detained and animal control is on site to take him into custody.

“PSA, please keep your dogs on a leash. Even dogs that are allowed to run off-leash should be on a leash in public. This is for everyone's safety. An approaching dog that is not on a leash can be unsettling for dogs and people,” the constable's office said.
