Kerry Washington stars in “The Six Triple Eight” in trailer for World War II drama

Netflix has released a trailer and pictures for The Six Triple Eightthe historical drama by screenwriter and director Tyler Perry, based on Kevin M. Hymel's article “Fighting a Two-Front War”.

Kerry Washington plays Major Charity Adams, commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, and follows her journey during World War II as she defies all odds to bring hope to the front lines alongside her battalion of female soldiers.

THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT is inspired by the first and only colored unit of the Women's Army Corps to serve overseas in World War II. Despite racism and sexism – and grueling working conditions – they were determined to serve their country with honor and distinction. With an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes spread hope and broke barriers.

The film's cast includes Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Jay Reeves, Jeffery Johnson, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Donna Biscoe, Gregg Sulkin, Scott Daniel Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston and Oprah Winfrey.



“The Six Triple Eight” comes to Netflix on December 20th.
