Police make arrests in Warrington for simple assault and shoplifting

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Warrington Township Police reported the following arrests on August 26 and 27:

Monday, August 26

  • Warrington police responded to the Home Depot area for a report of a domestic incident between a man and a woman. The victim told police her boyfriend, later identified as a 22-year-old Warrington man, accused her of stealing money from him. He then became angry while she was in a vehicle and punched the driver's side window, which shattered. The victim told police shards of glass fell on her. The man was arrested and taken to the station where he was charged with simple assault, criminal damage and disturbing the peace. He was arraigned. Judge Petrucci set bail at $20,000 or 10 percent cash. Unable to make bail, the man was taken to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
  • A 24-year-old man from Patterson, New Jersey was arrested on August 26 and charged with shoplifting, criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen goods. The theft occurred on February 20 at the TJ Maxx store in Warrington. Theft prevention officers reported that three individuals selected numerous items, cut the security tags from the items, hid the items and then left the store without paying for the merchandise. The total amount of the theft was $539.94. Their vehicle was stopped a short time later by Solebury Police and the individuals were identified. A criminal complaint was filed in District Court and on May 7, the man was arrested in Northampton County.

  • Police responded to a report of an assault in the 600 block of Warrington Avenue. Upon arrival, the victim reported to police that a man, later identified as a 34-year-old Warrington resident, came to his home and demanded money. The victim reported to police that when he told the man he would not give him money, the man became angry and snatched a phone from his hand as he attempted to call police. The victim sustained an injury in the process, police said. The man left the area before police arrived. Police obtained a warrant and the man was arrested on August 27 and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned and arraigned by Judge Wertman, who released him on honor parole.
